Call for Papers: Special Issue on "AI-Enabled Control and Cybersecurity for Modern Power Systems"

PUBLISH TIME:2024-11-26

To relevant institutions and experts:

The "dual high" characteristics of modern power systems—characterized by a high proportion of renewable energy and power electronic devices—are becoming increasingly prominent. However, the active support capabilities of renewable energy in frequency regulation, voltage control, and optimized operation remain insufficient. This calls for an urgent need to enhance the system's regulation capabilities while maintaining stability and security through comprehensive planning. Simultaneously, the accelerated digital transformation of power systems has heightened cybersecurity challenges. Ensuring the cybersecurity of modern power systems and maintaining the reliability and stability of power supply have become critical tasks for building robust and reliable systems. The rapid advancement of AI technologies offers new opportunities for optimizing operations, improving control, and enhancing cybersecurity in modern power systems.

To foster academic exchange, Southern Power System Technology (core journal of Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD), one of the Chinese Core Journals and Key Magazine of China Technology) will invite Professor ZHU Jizhong from South China University of Technology (Foreign Academician of Academy of Sciences of the Institute of Bologna, IEEE Fellow), Professor DONG Chaoyang from City University of Hong Kong (IEEE Fellow), and Professor XI Lei from China Three Gorges University to serve as guest editors. This special issue on "AI-Enabled Control and Cybersecurity for Modern Power Systems" will be published in 2025. We warmly invite experts and scholars from all fields to submit original articles and share insights on the latest developments and future directions in AI-enabled control and cybersecurity for modern power systems.

I. This special issue invites submissions on the following topics (but not limited to):

1. Modeling of source-load uncertainty in modern power systems

2. Collaborative planning of diverse and flexible resources, including generation, grid, load, and storage

3. Interaction mechanisms and control strategies for multi-type flexible resources in modern power systems

4. Frequency control technologies for modern power systems

5. Dynamic behavior studies of modern power systems

6. AI-based forecasting of renewable energy generation and power loads

7 AI-enabled optimization and control of modern power systems

8. AI-powered research on optimal scheduling in modern power systems

9. AI-driven fault diagnosis technologies for modern power systems

10. AI-enabled safety assessment metrics and analysis for modern power systems

11. Cyberattacks and defense strategies for power systems

II. Submission Requirements

1. The introduction should clearly state the research objectives, provide a comprehensive overview of domestic and international research backgrounds, objectively review related works, present the authors' perspectives, and outline the research approach.

2. The research design and methodology should be thoroughly explained, with rational data analysis and interpretation. Comparisons between proposed and existing methods, including strengths and limitations, should be made.

3. The manuscript should be concise, well-structured, and focused. Avoid lengthy derivations of formulas. The total length should ideally be within 6000 words (including figures and tables).

4. Submitted articles must be original and unpublished.

5. Manuscripts should be formatted in Word, following the submission guidelines of Southern Power System Technology.

III. Key Dates

1. Submission Deadline: December 31, 2024;

2. Acceptance Notification: March 31, 2025.

IV. Submission Method

Please register as an author on the journal's website (https://nfdwjs.csg.cn) and submit your manuscript, formatted according to the "Submission Guidelines" template. When submitting, please select the column "AI-Enabled Control and Cybersecurity for Modern Power Systems."
