To relevant institutions and experts:
In response to the urgent challenge of climate change, the global energy transition is accelerating, with China advancing its "dual-carbon" strategy. As a cornerstone of achieving this carbon neutrality goal, the new power system places renewable energy at its core, emphasizing green, low-carbon solutions, secure and controllable systems, economic efficiency, flexible openness, and AI-driven digitalization. This framework is essential for supporting the green transition of the energy sector. The construction of new power systems highlights the importance of coordinated operation and interaction among diverse resources, including generation, grid, load, and storage. However, to meet the increased complexity and higher demands for safe and stable operation amid this transition, continuous innovation is needed in low-carbon optimization, planning and configuration, AI enablement, fault diagnosis, coordinated multi-market integration, and multi-resource control strategies. To enhance operational control strategies and market interaction mechanisms for flexible resources, new power systems must address current challenges and focus on areas such as optimization modeling, theoretical methodologies, algorithm simulations, and other core research topics.
To foster academic exchange, Southern Power System Technology (core journal of Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD), one of the Chinese Core Journals and Key Magazine of China Technology) will invite Professor XI Lei from China Three Gorges University, Professor ZHANG Qian from Chongqing University, Associate Professor ZHANG Yongxi from Changsha University of Science & Technology, and Associate Professor WANG Ning from Yanshan University to serve as guest editors. This special issue on "Market Interaction Mechanisms and Operational Control Strategies of Diverse Flexible Resources in New Power Systems" will be published in 2025. We warmly invite experts and scholars from all fields to submit original articles and share insights on the latest developments and future directions in optimization and dispatch technologies for new power systems.
