Call for Papers: Special Issue on "Key Technologies for New DC Grounding Electrodes"

PUBLISH TIME:2024-11-13

To relevant institutions and experts:

Accelerating the development of renewable energy is essential for achieving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. In China, renewable energy bases are often located far from demand centers, and the safe, reliable transmission of large-scale renewable energy depends on long-distance DC transmission technology. DC grounding electrodes, a critical component of DC systems, provide a path for ground currents and imbalance currents. However, traditional shallow-buried DC grounding electrodes face challenges such as large land requirements, limited site options, and difficulty in site selection. To address the needs of large-scale renewable energy bases and ensure reliable energy transmission, it is essential to develop new DC grounding electrode technologies that overcome the limitations of traditional electrodes. These new technologies would offer diverse grounding solutions for complex onshore geological conditions and provide technical support for bipolar DC transmission of offshore wind power. To better serve the new power systems, research efforts should focus on addressing critical and complex issues by studying DC grounding electrode structural optimization, theoretical modeling, methodologies, and engineering validation.

To foster academic exchange, Southern Power System Technology (core journal of Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD), one of the Chinese Core Journals and Key Magazine of China Technology) will invite Associate Professor LU Hailiang from Wuhan University, Professor-level Senior Engineer CAI Hansheng from CSG Electric Power Research Institute to serve as guest editors. This special issue on "Key Technologies for New DC Grounding Electrodes" will be published in 2025. We warmly invite experts and scholars from all fields to submit original articles and share insights on the latest developments and future directions in optimization and dispatch technologies for new power systems.
