To relevant institutions and experts:
High-quality development of distribution networks is a crucial part of building a new type of power system. The distribution network is evolving from a traditional power network, which simply receives and distributes electricity to users, into an integrated power network that enables interaction among sources, grids, loads, and storage, while also achieving flexible coupling with upper-level grids. This transformation poses challenges, such as the inapplicability of traditional planning methods, difficulties in controlling complex operating scenarios, insufficient precision in simulations, and the limited technical and economic viability of flexible smart equipment. To develop a new type of distribution network that is safe, efficient, clean, low-carbon, flexible, and smart, systematic research must be conducted focusing on the flexible, intelligent, and digital transformation required in the new context. Key areas include flexible planning and operation, high-dimensional high-precision high-speed simulations, and autonomous new equipment for power distribution.
To foster academic exchange, Southern Power System Technology (core journal of Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD), one of the Chinese Core Journals and Key Magazine of China Technology) will invite Professor DONG Xuzhu from Wuhan University, Professor ZHANG Yongjun from South China University of Technology, ZHANG Wenhan from CSG Electric Power Research Institute to serve as guest editors. This special issue on "Key Technologies for High-Quality Development of Distribution Networks" will be published in 2024. We warmly invite experts and scholars from all fields to submit original articles and share insights on the latest developments and future directions in optimization and dispatch technologies for new power systems.
