Publication Ethics

Southern Power System Technology follows recognized publication ethics (e.g. WAME, COPE, etc.). We firmly oppose plagiarism in any form. The editors, authors and reviewers should perform the following duties (not limited to these) and adhere to the requirements of the journal.

For Authors

1.Authors should not submit the same manuscript or similar content to more than one journal concurrently.

2.Authors must ensure the manuscript has not been published previously (partly or in full).

3.Authors must ensure that there are no undesirable phenomena such as plagiarism. References must be properly cited, and the contributions of the authors clearly indicated in the manuscript.

4.Authorship must simultaneously meet the following four criteria:
  (1)Make significant contributions to the conception or design of the study, or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the study;
  (2)Draft the research paper or critically revise it for important intellectual content;
  (3)Approve the final version to be published;
  (4)Agree to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
  Individuals who do not meet all the 4 criteria could be acknowledged in the “Acknowledgments” section if consent is obtained. 

5.Authors must ensure that the content in the manuscript does not involve state secrets, does not violate the relevant national regulations on text, graphics, etc., and does not harm national sovereignty and interests.

6.Authors must explicitly disclose it if the results of the manuscript have obtained a patent application number (or patent right).

7.Authors must ensure that there are no data have been fabricated or manipulated (including images) to support the conclusions.

8.Upon submission, authors should disclose all funding information for their research findings, as well as any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that may bias their research results and paper writing.

9.When submitting a manuscript, authors should promptly disclose their contributions and any conflicts of interest to the journal. Please refer to the following template.

For Editors

1.Based on the review report of the peer review, the editor can accept, reject or request modifications to the manuscript. Editors should have no conflict of interest with respect to articles they reject/accept.

2.Journal editors shall make decisions on whether to accept manuscripts based on the significance, originality, expression, reliability of research results, and relevance to the scope of the journal, and should not be influenced by the author's nationality, ethnicity, political identity, race, beliefs, etc.

3.All submissions must pass the plagiarism detection using the system developed by China National Knowledge Infrastructure (for Chinese manuscript) to confirm their originality before starting the external review stage. The editorial department will screen any academic misconduct, such as content plagiarism, copyright infringement, or multiple submissions.

4.Editors must not use unpublished information in the editor's research without the written consent of the author.

5.Editors should take reasonable responsive measures when ethical complaints have been presented concerning a submitted manuscript or published paper.

For Reviewers

1.Reviewers should respect the authors’ intellectual property rights, do not plagiarize the authors’ results, and keep the manuscript strictly confidential before publication.

2.Reviewers who feel unqualified to review the articles, or unable to complete review of manuscript within stipulated time, should notify the editor and excuse themselves from the review process, so that the manuscript could be sent to other reviewers.

3.Reviewers should not accept peer review when they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative or other relationships with authors, companies, or institutions connected to the articles. Review process should be completed fairly and impartially, not influenced by the author's nationality, ethnicity, political identity, race, beliefs, etc.

4.Reviewers must ensure that authors have acknowledged all sources of data used in the research. If the reviewers find potential plagiarism or multiple submissions, they should immediately report it to the editor.

5.Review should express their views objectively and clearly with supporting arguments.

Advertisement Policy

The print journal publishes advertisement in form of insert pages. Advertising content must be reasonable and legal, and the presentation of advertisements must be separated from academic content. Advertising will not affect the editing process and publishing decisions. If there is a conflict of interest, it will be handled according to relevant standards of this journal.

Statement on Generative Artificial Intelligence

1.Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) lacks the ability for critical thinking and original assessment, which may result in incorrect, incomplete, and biased conclusions. As a non-legal entity, it cannot assert the presence of conflicts of interest nor manage copyright or license agreements. The policy regarding using GenAI in submission and review of manuscripts is as follows.

2.GenAI cannot be used to write entire papers or important parts of papers, such as methods, results, and interpretation and analysis of results. All content falling within the realm of scientific contribution or intellectual work should be completed by humans. This journal does not accept GenAI, its products or teams listed as authors.

3.If GenAI is used in the composition of papers, authors must disclose in detail how GenAI is used in the methods section. Authors are fully responsible for the content produced by GenAI tools, and are thus liable for any breaches of publishing ethics or infringement.

4.GenAI is prohibited to assist manuscript evaluation or decision-making process in the editorial department. It must be human editors who are responsible for the paper review, decision-making, and communication with authors. To avoid risks of infringement, privacy breach, and confidential breach, reviewers and editors are not allowed to upload manuscripts and supplementary materials to publicly available GenAI platforms during the paper review and editing process.
