Multi-Stage Allocation Method of Battery Energy Storage System Considering Growth Mode of Distributed Generation

Abstract

With the diversified development of investment subject in active distribution networks, the planning scheme of power system should scientifically take all active components into account such as the objective access mode of distributed generation(DG). Taking maximizing the global benefit of distribution network as an objective, this paper proposed a multi-stage battery energy storage system(BESS) allocation approach considering the growth mode of DG. This methodology can effectively combine the arbitrage behaviors and life-cycle management and therefore the optimal BESS allocation strategy is obtained compatible with the stepwise growth of DG. Thus the long-interval planning facing with final scene is extended to the multi-stage adaptative planning. The experiment result shows that the proposed method can deal with different types of DG development and enhances the penetration of renewable energy, moreover, the utilization of BESS is effectively improved.
