Business Mode and Economic Analysis of User-Side Battery Energy Storage System in Industrial Parks

Abstract

A business mode of user-side battery energy storage system in industrial parks is established based on the analysis of the current energy storage related policies in China. The operating mode includes design of investors/operators, electricity metering and settlement methods. Moreover, an economic analysis model for user-side battery energy storage system is built considering different charging/discharging operation strategies. For lead carbon battery, lithium ion battery and all-vanadium redox flow battery, the cost/benefit analysis and key parameters sensitivity analysis of user-side battery energy storage system are carried out in detail. The simulation results show that under the existing energy storage technology conditions, investing user-side battery energy storage system is not economical. Finally, the incentive policies for user-side battery energy storage are analyzed.
